One of the most powerful Composer facilities is the ability to create ad hoc attributes (fields) against parties in the system. Examples of parties are investors, advisers, employers and custodians. Attributes allow information to be recorded about a party that isn't already catered for by the standard Composer database. These attributes are available for reporting and enquiry purposes. For example, it is an excellent way of recording information typically recorded by Relationship Management Systems that can be used to support marketing campaigns and to deliver highly personalised customer service. These flags can also be used as triggers for operational processing such as generating special correspondence or reports, batch runs and extracting data transmission to other systems.
