Composer Business Integration Server (CBIS) is designed upon Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) standards and provides Composer clients with the simplified ability to integrate to Composer.  CBIS provides an extensive array of Composer web services that allow Composer to easily interface to other solutions whether they are web sites or internal systems.  In addition to this, CBIS implements an enterprise service bus that supports functionally rich web portals and STP transactions using these web services.  CBIS also supports real time messages from Composer through to external systems supporting a variety of message standards and transport protocols (SOAP, JMS, RMI, HTTP etc.).

It uses a combination of BPEL business process scripts and XSL translation tools to map external data sources to standard XML messages that can be sent to existing Composer Web Service API’s.
